Fiji | Write a review | December 2, 2011Come to Fiji and enjoy the luscious surroundings and the idyllic ambience here. Come to this land of islands, beaches, coral reefs and lagoons. This is where you can find the various colours of Mother Nature come alive and feel the freshness of the ocean waters touch you and calm your tired soul.
Come to Coral Coast and enjoy this beautiful corner of Fiji and experience the exotic nature of this region. Around 90km from Nadi, this beautiful region lies in the south western part of the coastline of Viti Levu and is one of the largest coral reefs in the entire world. The fringes of the coral reefs and the 80 km stretch of beaches and bays that this place has, is what makes it a most sought after spot. The lovely mangrove forests and the verdant vegetation of the this place amkes it even more special. Coral Coast with its enchanting Fijian villages gives the ultimate travel experience for anyone coming here. With steep hills rising sharply in the background, and the mountainous surroundings along with the natural beauty giving the perfect scenic splendor, the whole travel experience here seems heavenly.
While you are here, you are sure to feel you are in a Garden of Eden. Such is the calm and tranquility here that the rocky outcrops, and the bays, mighty as they seem, look very innocently serene. The main town here is Sigatoka which is incidentally a place that is dominated by an Indian influence. There are many Indian temples here besides some Indian restaurants and shops. There is also a mosque here lending some religious value to the place.

While you come here on a travel, besides exploring the area and enjoying ,you can also indulge in a little shopping in the local marketplace where you can see a lot of farmers trading and bartering. You can see women selling their wares and handicrafts, jewellery, souvenirs, home wares and many other items like the hand woven coconut leaf baskets.
The Sigatoka Sand Dunes are very famous in Coral Coast. This is one place which will give you a total adrenaline rush. This is a natural wonder and is a result of fluvial erosion. Spanning over 650 hectares, this is around 5 km long. The width is around 1 km and the height is approximately 20m. At the western side the height goes up to 60m. This natural occurrence is widely popular across the world and no traveller goes back without seeing the Sigatoka Sand Dunes. Don’t expect to see some golden beauty, for the Sigatoka sand dunes are by nature a grayish brown and have many vines and shrubs. They are a sight to be seen and have been forming for years together. This is a good spot to visit before 11 in the morning or after 3 in the evening. The mid day becomes very hot and it becomes an unpleasant experience.

Coral Coast also gives you the pleasures of sand boarding and helps you enjoy the better aspects of being in a dune.
With all this in tow, don’t you think that this is a great destination to explore?
