Adelaide – an overview

Adelaide is one of the best planned cities around the world. This famous city has plenty of tourist attractions, restaurants and bars, entertainment options. If you are planning to explore the nearby places, this is a good place for overnight stay. Adelaide Hills is located close to Adelaide and has various reserves and national parks. The coastline has stunning beaches waiting to be explored. The beautiful Barossa Valley and the beautiful areas of McLaren Vale wine are located at a distance. It takes about one hour ride from Adelaide.

Adelaide is the capital city of South Australia and tourists here will certainly enjoy stylish architecture, sandy swimming beaches, boutique shopping, fabulous arts events, fine dining, nightlife, and lots more. Many of the best café strips in Australia are located in this city. The total population of this city is about a million. Australia is sparsely populated and with one million habibtants in a city, makes Adeliade the most densely populated places in the country. This city is also known for its high standard of living. However, it doesn’t make it to the country’s ‘Big Four’ cities line up even if it is one of the most developed areas in Australia.

The remarkable coastal suburb of Glenelg provides its tourists with a jetty, “the Grand” and has numerous restaurants and cafes. You can get in to one of the olden days trams or opt for the trendy light-rail trams for exploring this part of the city.

Montefiore Hill is located in North Adelaide and provides an impressive view of this place, particularly at night.


Visiting the renowned Adelaide Hills is a must if you are here to explore the city. Reaching the summit of these hills will reward you, with breathtaking views of Adelaide plains, Adelaide CBD, Adelaide metropolitan area, Glenelg and various neighboring areas. Also, don’t forget to visit the restaurant located at the Mt. Lofty summit. This restaurant is moderately priced and won’t burn a hole in your pocket. You can get tourist information from a souvenir shop located here. You may need to walk up to the summit, since automobiles are not allowed here in the morning and late evening hours.


I am sure that you will enjoy the long lazy walks, with your special ones, along the stunning white sandy beaches.

While you are walking down from the summit of Mt. Lofty, remember to take a halt at Cleland and Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary. This park offers its visitors with BBQ amenities but you need to pay extra for this.


At night, you can take a trip to the Cnr Rundle Street and Pultney Street to watch the wonderful Rundle Lantern light display. These streets are decorated with more than 750 light panels and it is really a wonderful sight.
