Top end at the Vanishing point in Australia

Australians here call it the top end of the continent. This is a breezy place which is open to debate.  It is also believed that the top end of the north of Australia lies on the tropic of Capricorn. This includes about one entire third of the continent. The other places that were included in this were the Cape York and a peninsula which includes the town of Darwin. This city is the capital of the northern territory.

The top end is narrower than most people expect it to be. The river flats here and the countryside which has hills is just on the inland of the Van Diemen gulf. This place long sandstone ridges which give way to the flood plans that broader a national park within this area called the Kakadu national park.

This place has been listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. Also this is the largest park in the Australian area. This place is even bigger than Connecticut and Delaware both combined.  The Kakadu according to he locals is a ancestral reservoir which is a major cultural repository for the aborigines. The oasis here is of the native land and rich biodiversity. The sandstones here stay still through the monsoon floods that come and go every year.

People here ask visitors the friendly question as to what brings them to this place, different visitors have different answers. A lot of them talk about the grandeur of nature here at this place.

The Sampan creek; is a part of the Van Diemen gulf. This place is in fact close to the Bamurru plains. This safari style lodge had been opened here a few years ago. The tides here reach all he way to the lower end of the creek.  During December; this place experiences heavy monsoon rainfall. The mud here is quite distinct and the same texture of mud covers almost all the coastal plains. There are agile wallabies that casually graze on the flood plains.  You will get to see animals like the water buffalo here too.

The magpie geese can be seen a lot, their numbers reach to tens of thousands.

You could also find soil of this texture at the Kakadu at billabong. This place lied beneath the freshwater mangroves which are at Wongalara.  This place used to be a cattle station which lied to the southeast of Kakadu. This place has been converted in a natural sanctuary by the great Australian wildlife conservatory.
