Tasmania | 1 Review | July 26, 2010

Tasmania, for a lot of people including the Australians, seems like the end of this world. The place is isolated far from the mainland of Australia. . This place is very famous for its flora and fauna. In act the distinct and abundant flora and fauna that exists here is rare and is not found anywhere else in the world.

Most of this island has civilization even though it is covered in thick greenery. . There are about three million acres of parkland area. This is mostly what makes Australia’s most spectacular scenery that is lush and alpine. One of the most spectacular places here in Tasmania is the cradle mountain national park. This place has rugged peaks and high moorlands which make up a large and untamed part of this region.

There is a fifty three long mile road that connects the cradle mountain park with the saint Claire Lake. This is the countries most famous road and every Australian man and woman makes it a part of their list of things that they just have to do in their lifetime.

This track goes way into the rainforest. To prevent people from wandering off into the jungle there is a fixed boardwalk that guides the people passing through here. You will find many huts along the way, but these huts are usually full.  It would be a superb idea to carry all you camping equipment and gear if you are going for this six day hike.

There are many superb trekking agencies that will hook you up with supplies and provide you with trained experts who will guide you through the trek.  These people also provide you with huts, and private guest rooms with hot running water and other facilities.

On the tour, the guide will also serve as the cook, who will cook you delicious local dishes and the eleven mile hike. Although if you want shorter distances the don’t shy away from asking.

After you are done with all this there is a final walk that passes through a dense eucalyptus forest that takes you all the way to the lake saint Claire. This is Tasmania’s most beautifully craved ice glaciers and is almost two million years old. There is a ten mile boat ride that takes you through the entire cradle mountain path and gives you an amazing experience.

The overland track is taken then it is about fifty more miles than your normal every time vacation.  The cradle mountain is a stationary alternative this entire place is cozy and has very rustic feel to it.  The breakfast here is amazing, you have Tasmanian bacon and fired eggs.  The atmosphere here at the local inn as though you are sitting a round a fire and exchanging stories and your food is being cooked and served to you.
