    The Mindil Beach at Darwin will be hosting this year’s installment of regatta fun on the 10th of July. The 2011 Darwin Beer Can Regatta will be held from 10 a m to 5 p m. The larrikin territorians are certainly reputed to have some great ideas for regattas. The Henley on Todd Regatta is famous in Alice Springs in the Northern Territory, where boats are raced on a dry riverbed. However, Darwin throws a whole new scorcher, the races are held in water. But – wait for it – the boats are constructed out of empty beer cans. The yearly regatta is organized every year in the months of Jul or Aug on any day when the tides are favorable.
